Why Wet Dreams Are Not Relapses

This is another common mistaken belief in the porn addiction community and a very frustrating one at that.

Hard hustling rebooters are binging good progress away for nothing just because the lack one critical piece of knowledge

A natural process

Wet dreams are a completely natural bodily function. Your body just dispels some excessive pressure. They happen nocturnally (which is fancy talk for “during the night”).

And what are you when sleeping? Unconscious.

Which means that you are not consciously taking action against your reboot.

Keep on going down your road towards recovery!

You’re off the hook!

You did not relapse, so you can just keep on plowing forward with your recovery process.

The good and the bad

If you are struggling with porn-induced ED, then having a wet dream might be a good sign.

Where it may feel like a relapse is the unfocused, tired and unmotivated next day some rebooters experience.

Part of this may come from the loss of nutrients and minerals. If you experience a strong dip after a nocturnal emission, consider supplementing with a multi-vitamin or zinc supplement.

It might be that you are deficient in one or more micronutrients. But I’m not a doctor, so take that with a gain of salt and consult a qualified physician.

Conclusion

Keeping this short and sweet, the take-away from this is that wet dreams are not relapses.

When it comes to normal bodily functions beyond our conscious control, give yourself a break.

After all, the goal of recovery from porn addiction is not to become estranged from all sexuality, but to re-focus our life towards the healthy aspects.
